Frequently Asked Questions

What to expect from your first appointment


I have two Counselling Private Practice rooms:

1. Tiverton, which is in easy reach from M5 Junction 27, Cullompton, Willand, Bolham, Bampton, Dulverton, Bickleigh, and other surrounding villages.

2. Witheridge, which is in easy reach from Tiverton, Crediton, Sandford, Lapford, Exeter, Chulmleigh, Chawleigh, South Molton, Rackenford, Kings Nympton and many other surrounding villages.


We will have a chat about your expectations of what working with a Counsellor means to you and what you hope to gain from the counselling process. I will be able to let you know what I can offer you during our sessions and how best we can work together to fulfil your needs.

Our initial meeting will be for 45 minutes and this will enable you to decide whether you feel that I am the person you wish to work with. Hopefully, we will then make plans to meet regularly for weekly, hourly sessions and our journey together will begin.

I offer a safe space for you to talk confidentially in my comfortable and relaxed Counselling Rooms.

I have hourly, weekly appointments between the hours of 9 am and 7 pm every weekday.

I also offer my current clients a session via Skype. This can be useful if they are unable to attend their usual appointment in person.

There is ample private parking at my Witheridge address and a regular bus route into the village from Tiverton, Barnstaple & Exeter

In Tiverton there are many reasonably priced car parks. The closest one being behind Boots.

Costs for Appointments

20.00 for an initial 45 minute consultation in Witheridge
25.00 for the initial 45 minute consultation in Tiverton

35.00 for subsequent hourly sessions at my main Counselling Room in Witheridge

40.00 for subsequent hourly sessions at The Wellness Clinic in Tiverton

Appointments via Skype will be 50 minute sessions at a cost of 30.00

I am happy to discuss a reduced fee for Children and Adolescents and Couples.

In order to secure your appointment time and date, payment is requested via bank transfer upon booking. All subsequent appointments are required to be paid for within 24 hours of your previous one.


I ask that you give me at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange our scheduled appointment. This will enable me to offer my time to another client in your absence. Otherwise, I respectfully request that the hourly fee be paid. I am unable to refund for appointments not attended. I accept direct bank payments prior to appointments.
